Weekend Trip Notes
Here comes the last video of 2021. A simple weekend adventure to one of our favorite towns.
It feels like a movie every single time we visit Bodega Bay and Sonoma Coast. I don't remember how many times I watched "The Birds" of Alfred Hitchcock. That movie has inspired me since I was a kid. And years later, I discovered it was shot in Bodega Bay. Instantly, it made this small town more special for me. I can understand why Hitchcock got inspired. This place has a feeling. Moody, a little dark but also magical. I grew up in a small fishing village. As a very young kid, I was hitchhiking to the beach and picking my own mussels. Bringing them home for my mom to cook. That was my passion. I was home when I stepped on the sand. I remember the first day I got my drivers license. I drove to one of the most remote beaches. Watched the waves crashing to the shore, waited until the sunset. I was dreaming about the future. I still get excited with the sound and smell of the ocean. It is healing.
Photo & Video Gear
As usual, I wanted to travel light with only one camera and one lens. Canon R6 and Canon RF 16mm f/2.8. I debated buying a light travel tripod for years and finally I got one, my first carbon fiber tripod. I can't believe I waited over 10 years. Such an amazing tool. I was so happy to have a lighter tripod with me. I should have bought this long time ago. I can't stress enough how good I feeI about not getting the $600 PD tripod. This one gets the job done for me. I used the crop mode a lot for the first time. So basically, I had a ~24mm field of view on some shots. So happy with this setup. I don't feel like I am carrying a camera. 2 batteries, R6, 16mm and a super light tripod. I wish I had the time to travel and document more. I am a weekend warrior like most of you and hoping to do a little more of these trips in 2022.
YOutube Channel
For the new people watching the channel. Main goal for this channel is to document the beautiful moments of our lives. This is my visual journal. I use whatever tool is available for me. I am brand agnostic. I pretty much use all camera brands and like almost all of them. So many great tools but so little time to create. I hope you are all healthy, safe and enjoying your holidays. Thank you for tagging along and I'll see you on the next one! Baris
